The Shichida Method History
- 1958 – Makoto Shichida opens the Educational Institute in Gotsu, Shimane, Japan. This is the origin of The Shichida Method.
- 1972 – The book “Education from age 0” is published by Professor Makoto Shichida.
- 1976 – The first “Early Education Center” opens in Gotsu, Japan
- 1978 -The teaching material “Letter Card Game”, developed by Makoto Shichida, goes on sale
- 1985 – Makoto Shichida’s first English-language book, “How to Raise a Gorgeous Child”, is published

- 1987 – The number of Shichida Centers in Japan is rising
- 1990 -The association for parents of children with special needs opens, “Makoto Club”
- 1991 – The first article on the development of potential adult skills is published – “Development of the right hemisphere of the brain”
- 1996 -“Revolution of the right hemisphere of the brain” is published and sells over 200,000 copies
- 1997 – Makoto Shichida receives the “Award for Excellence in Socio-Cultural Services” from the Association for the Promotion of Japanese Culture

- 2000 -The first Early Education Center opens in Taiwan
- 2001 – The first Early Education Center opens in Singapore
- 2002 – First Early Education Center opens in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
- 2003 -“Autistic children can improve their skills through the Shichida Right Hemisphere Method” is published by KK Long Sellers
- 2005 -The first Early Education Center opens in New York (USA), and The Shichida Children’s Educational Institute changes its name to Shichida Educational Institute

- 2006 – The first Early Education Center opens in Jakarta
- 2008 -Makoto Shichida’s documentary – “Soul Education” is released in Japan and the first Early Education Center opens in Bangkok (Thailand)
- 2009 -Makoto Shichida dies and the first Early Education Center opens in Melbourne (Australia)
- 2010 -Makoto Shichida Memorial opens in Gotsu, Japan and the first Early Education Centers open in Shenzhen (China) and Hong Kong
- 2011 – The first Early Education Center opens in Vancouver (Canada)

- 2013 -The first Early Education Center opens in Ho Chi Minh (Vietnam)
- 2014 -The first Early Education Center opens in Vientiane (Laos)
- 2015 – The first Early Education Center opens in Yangon (Myanmar)
- 2017 -“Shichida At Home” – the first online early childhood education program, launches in Australia and New Zealand, and the first Early Education Centers open in Phnom Penh (Cambodia) and Reading (UK).
- 2020 – The first Early Education Center opens in Oradea (Romania)
